Nice post Ernie. I'm not a fan of West Wing-- the clipped tennis like volleys of dialoge usually between Donna and Josh just bothered me for some reason. Though my husband won't stop mentioning it in every day conversation and pointing out every actor in every show we watch who was on that show. However, the speech in A Few Good Men? GENIUS.

During COVID I had a subscription to Masterclass and I watched the Aaron Sorkin class. It was so good. I mention it in one of my posts how he liked to drop the audience into a conversation in process, so they'd have to lean in and figure out what's going on.

There's a lot to learn from him and you do a great job of boiling down the important aspects.

So happy to read your (unsurprising) emphasis on craft! I came of age during the "Good Enough is Not Enough" era and feels like "Just Get It Done" is the new mantra. Closely followed by its cousin, "Just Get It Done Cheaply." It's hard.
